Free speech recognition in Windows!

Did you know that there is a free speech recognition program in Windows Vista?

Bet you didn’t know that.

Previously I extolled the virtues of the Dragon naturally speaking software. But there is actually no need to splash out cash on a speech recognition program.

If you just want to try before buying, start with the free one in Windows instead.

Most people don’t realise it is there because it is not found in the programme section, nor is it in the control panel. I find that the easiest way is to just do a search for ” Windows speech recognition”. Just click on the start button at the lower left corner of your screen.

By the way, you need a good quality microphone for a pleasant experience.

You can find out more about Microsoft’s speech recognition programme here.

Have fun!
